An unforgettable meeting with the Banded Darter

Sympetrum pedemontanum

On September 17, 2014, on a meadow in the village Ciezkowice (Upper Silesia) we observed 20 specimens of the Banded Darter (12 ♂, 8 ♀). Below are some photos, that we made during the observation of this amazing species (we believe that it is one of the most beautiful Darters occurring in our country).

    Wonderful series, centrings, bokehs and sharpness, everything is completed, for a tribute in this very beautiful species, that I do not meet in my region, but which is present in the South of France, Ardèche among others! The last picture is my favourite! Greetings, M.

      Hi Morikan! Thanks for all nice words. The Banded Darter occurs in our region, but is really rare. In Silesia we observed it only three times.

    Bonjour,
    De très belles photos de ce Sympetrum avec des bokehs le mettant en valeur. Je trouve les ailes superbes et je rejoins Nathalie en ce qui concerne la qualité de la dernière photo.
