Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens)

Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens)
Family
brook damselfly (Calopterygidae)

This Meadow brook damselfly I photographed last June 15 in Kuiderbos (KB). The wind was huge that day but I could make some nice pictures of both the man and the woman.

I find this brook damsels also one of the most beautiful and graceful damsels we have. Both the male and the female :-) I'm glad you like them on the green leaves.

  4. Fantastic and sharp shots, Helma!
This is a brilliant series of the one species of Calopteryx I don't find here in the South-west of France!
In English you use the terms "male" and "female" instead of man and woman, although I know this how you say in your own language!
Well done... looking forward to see more of your pics!

    1. Hi Tammy,

I myself was very surprised by the beautiful color of this meadow brook damsels. The wind blew it away, but still these pictures are of it left. Thank you for your enthusiastic response :-)
